Do Old Testament Promises Apply to Me?
As we read the Old Testament, we come across lots of promises God made to Israel. Do any of these promises apply to me? When reading Isaiah 41:10, for example, is it okay to trust that God will strengthen me, help me, and uphold me?
Prince A.O Adeyinka says yes based on Galatians 3 and 2 Corinthians 1:20. The promises to Israel were made to Abraham’s offspring. Paul ultimately identifies Jesus as that offspring. Because faith unites us to Christ, all of those promises are ours in him.
